Highway Description Compiler
When a SmartAHS Project is downloaded the highway description is already
defined with the SHIFT source code available. When creating a new project,
there are alternative approaches to defining the highway configuration:
Existing SHIFT code for the components defining the highway can be obtained
from a previously defined SmartAHS Project and then modified to meet the
needs of the new project.
The highway layout can be defined in the text format required by the highway
compiler hwyc, which creates the necessary SHIFT component types.
The types are Section, Segment, Lane, Block, Barrier, Source and Sink.
It is likely that the easiest way to define a new highway network is
to use the highway compiler hwyc. The input file format and user
commands are described in the Highway
Description Compiler Manual.
